Genesis G80 Partial Change
Expected to launch by the end of the year
Complete overview of expected interior and exterior design
The facelifts of the GV80 and the coupe, along with most of the new Genesis models expected to be released this year, have been unveiled. The only new model still under wraps is the G80 facelift model, responsible for the brand’s highest sales volume. Now in its fourth year of release, this model is expected to undergo significant changes, just like the two new models previously released. The exterior will see improvements in detail and completion, including applying the latest MLA headlights, while the interior is expected to undergo a more radical transformation.
Standard and Sports Versions to be Released
Expected to Follow Differences Between GV80 and Coupe
Like the current model, this new car will come in separate standard and sports package designs. One of the differences seen in the front of both specifications is the Crest Grill. The standard model has changed the internal pattern to two lines, and the sports model applies two layers on the inside and outside. This is similar to the differences between the previously released GV80 and GV80 Coupe.
The front bumper design also catches the eye. The bumper fascia, which was somewhat bland in the existing model, has been enhanced with air curtains. While both the standard and sports models have the same three-part layout, the air intake area of the sports package is wider. The headlights of all specifications will change to the MLA (Micro Lens Array) method.
Surface Emitting Taillights to be Applied?
The rear of both versions is expected to undergo a more daring transformation. The standard model has applied the triangular garnish, a design element of the Genesis X concept car, to the lower left and right sides of the rear bumper. The GV80 facelift model also applied the same design, but interestingly, the entire garnish is blocked.
The sports package is expected to have a layout similar to the GV80 Coupe. The presence of the dual muffler tip in the shape of a pentagonal shield stands out, and the protrusion that reminds one of the Genesis logo emblem adds detail. A black high-glossy decoration surrounding the corners and reflectors is applied to the rear bumper. There is also a possibility that surface-emitting taillights, like the GV80 Coupe, will be applied.
27-Inch Display to be Applied
Improvements Focused on User Convenience
The interior is expected to follow most of the latest trends shown through the GV80 facelift. A 27-inch OLED wide display, like the GV80 facelift and coupe, will be applied to the top of the dashboard. This specification integrates the existing 12.3-inch digital cluster and center screen into one, eliminating the boundaries between the two screens and featuring a more sophisticated visual.
The integrated controller, which had received complaints for being difficult to handle, changed to a protruding type like a shift dial, improving user convenience. The air conditioning device is expected to reduce the dial size and add an audio volume control dial. The steering wheel will be around for the standard model, and a D-cut shape, like the GV80 Coupe, will be applied for the sports package. The G80 facelift model is expected to be revealed as early as next month and go on sale by the end of the year.
