Apple has recorded its highest-ever quarterly shipment in India, a market traditionally dominated by mid to low-range smartphones.

According to market research firm Counterpoint Research, the overall smartphone shipments in India for Q3 2023 remained steady, but Apple shipped 2.5 million units in the country during the same period, marking a 34% growth compared to the same period last year.

India is the second-largest smartphone market in the world. Counterpoint Research has noted that the Indian smartphone market, which had been on a decline for a year, is gradually showing signs of recovery in consumer demand.

Meanwhile, among the top five brands in the Indian market by shipment volume, Vivo was the fastest-growing, recording an 11% growth year-on-year. Despite its rapid growth, it maintained its third-place ranking. Samsung, thanks to the success of its A and M series, recorded a 17.2% market share, retaining the top spot for the fourth consecutive quarter.
