Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie’s criticism of Israel’s airstrikes in the Palestinian Gaza Strip has been directly refuted by the President of Israel.
According to the British daily Telegraph on the 6th (local time), Israeli President Isaac Herzog said in an interview with journalist Piers Morgan, “(Angelina Jolie) has never been to the Gaza Strip to see the reality on the ground. The Gaza Strip is not a prison because of Israel, but it has become a prison because Israel withdrew from the Gaza Strip.”
He also claimed, “There is no humanitarian crisis threatening the survival of the residents of Gaza,” and “The humanitarian aid that Israel is sending to the Gaza Strip, along with the United States, the United Nations, and several other countries, is increasing significantly.”
Earlier, Jolie claimed on her SNS on the 1st, “The Gaza Strip has been an open-air prison for almost 20 years and is now becoming a massive grave. Millions of Palestinian civilians are being collectively punished and their humanity is being destroyed, deprived of food, medicine, and humanitarian aid.”
Meanwhile, as of the 7th (local time), Israel has entered the heart of Gaza City. Prime Minister Netanyahu reported the local situation, saying, “Thousands of terrorists have been eliminated from the ground and tunnels, and many Hamas command posts and tunnels have been destroyed through ground operations.” The international community is proposing a ceasefire, expressing concern about Israel’s continued attacks on the Gaza Strip, but Israel is still pressing ahead with the attacks.
