The Chosun Shinbo reported on the 23rd that the large-scale greenhouse farms in the East Sea district of North Korea, Yeonpo Greenhouse Farm in South Hamgyong Province and Jungpyeong Greenhouse Farm in North Hamgyong Province are competitively yielding winter vegetable input.

The farms are said to be scientifically carrying out nutritional management, temperature and humidity management, pest management, and crop spacing management according to the biological characteristics of each winter crop variety.

The farms are striving to lay the technical foundation for winter vegetable production by innovating technology to maximize the use of the greenhouse space, lower costs, and increase the yield per unit.

North Korea completed the Jungpyeong Greenhouse Farm in December 2019, and the Yeonpo Greenhouse Farm was completed in October 2022.

SPN Seoul Pyongyang News recently analyzed the operation status of the two greenhouses using satellite thermal images, and it was confirmed that the operation rate has increased compared to last year.
