Ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday, a poll revealed that over 70% of the public believes that President Yoon Suk Yeol and First Lady Kim Keon Hee need to address and apologize for the “Kim Keon Hee Luxury Bag Scandal.”
According to a survey conducted by the polling company Embrain Public on February 4-5, targeting 1,005 adults nationwide and released on the 6th, when asked, “What is the most appropriate response to the suspicion of First Lady Kim’s luxury bag acceptance?”, 40% of the responses indicated, “First Lady Kim should apologize directly.” The response rate for “the President should explain directly” was 31%. This means that 71% of respondents want an apology from First Lady Kim Keon Hee and an explanation from President Yoon Suk Yeol. The “There is no need to explain or apologize as it is a hidden camera operation” response rate was 19%, and the “I don’t know/no response” rate was 10%.
In this survey, the positive evaluation of President Yoon’s job performance was 34%, while the negative review was 60%.
The party support rate was 38% for the Democratic Party and 34% for the People Power Party. In the general election outlook, the “Democratic Party’s victory” was 35%, and the “People Power Party’s victory” was 24%. The “Neither side will win decisively” response rate was 32%.
