North Korea-China Celebrate Air Transport Agreement Anniversary with Cultural Exchange Plans

North Korea and China are expected to resume transportation, including aviation, and expand cultural exchanges to celebrate the Year of North Korea-China Amity this year.

The North Korean Committee for External Cultural Relations and the National Aviation Administration jointly held a reception commemorating the 65th anniversary of the North Korea-China Air Transport Agreement and the North Korea-China Cultural Cooperation Agreement at the Okryugwan in Pyongyang on the 22nd.

The event was attended by Seo Ho Won, Chairman of the Committee for External Relations; Park Kyung Chul, Vice Minister of Culture; Ri Yong Sun, Deputy Director of the National Aviation Administration, and other related department officials from North Korea, as well as Wang Yajun, Chinese Ambassador to North Korea, Feng Chun Tai, Consul, and Zhou Changting, Consul General, from China.

Chairman Seo announced in his speech that day, “Following the lofty will of the two parties and national leaders, we will strive with China to deepen exchanges and cooperation in various fields, including culture and aviation transportation.”

Ambassador Wang also emphasized, “We hope that the early resumption of transportation cooperation, including aviation, between China and Korea, and the expansion of exchanges in the humanities field, will lead to more fruitful cooperation between the two sides and strengthen the long-standing friendship between the two nations.”

He added, “Both sides are seriously implementing the important agreements reached by Chinese President Xi Jinping and North Korean Secretary Kim Jong Un and are actively carrying out various activities for the Year of Friendship.”

The Chinese Embassy in North Korea reported that Chairman Seo and Ambassador Wang had an informal meeting before the event, and the event was held in a warm atmosphere.@
