North Korea has stated that despite massive U.S. sanctions against Russia, it cannot break the independent stance of the Russian government and the strong resistance of its military and people.
On the 26th, the North Korean Central News Agency reported an article by international affairs critic Ro Ju Hyun titled “The stale sanctions uproar and sudden arrogance only evoke ridicule.”
They criticized, “The U.S. imposed massive sanctions against Russia on the 23rd, related to the two years of the U.S. launching special military operations in Ukraine,” and “The U.S.’s malicious intention to inflict strategic defeat on Russia, even by swinging a worn-out sanction whip, has not changed at all.”
The agency claimed that the Western countries have lost $1.5 trillion due to U.S. sanctions against Russia. It criticized it as “cutting the branch it sits on by imposing unilateral sanctions.”
“The grim future of the U.S. has been mortgaged by its sanction pressure against sovereign states,” they added.
Previously, the U.S. announced a sanction list of over 500 in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, including companies located in South Korea.
