The representative SUV among family cars in South Korea is said to be the Hyundai Palisade, a full-size SUV. There is still a year left until the release of the redesigned version by full-change, but expectations are already rising as test drives of the prototype hidden in camouflage have been captured.

The new Facelift Palisade is known to have a boxy shape like the previously released new Santa Fe and Kia’s electric full-size SUV, EV9. The side part based on the new platform is expected to have various changes, including a longer wheelbase than before.

Thin headlamp graphics applied, vertically placed turn signal lights

A realistic rendering of a test car became a hot topic among netizens. According to StuBio, a professional YouTube channel, a rendering was created based on the latest spy shots released. The front part has ‘Seamless Horizon’ daytime running lights that run horizontally like a straight eyebrow.

For the angled headlamp, horizontally thin graphics were applied. The turn signal lights in the horizontal lamps arranged vertically in three rows create a stylish look. For the grille, a vertical pattern similar to the graphics of the headlamp was applied, creating a sense of unity in the front design along with thinly applied turn signals.

Floating Roof Design, right-angled tail lamp design

On the side, the pillars are painted black, and a floating roof design is applied to make the roof appear floating. The C pillar has a similar angle to the A-pillar, giving the design a sense of stability, and the D pillar and tailgate are slanted rather than vertical, like Hyundai’s Santa Fe. The square lines applied to the fender are also unique. The lines of the rear and the side character lines are connected to create a rich three-dimensional design.

For the rear, right-angled tail lamps harmonize with the square tailgate details. The top end of the tail lamp sharply penetrates and extends all the way to the side panel. The tail lamp graphics use the same horizontal pattern as the headlamp to create a sense of unity.

Powertrain expected to change significantly

Meanwhile, major changes are expected in the powertrain of the new Palisade. Instead of the existing 3.8-liter gasoline engine, 2.5-liter gasoline turbo and 3.5-liter gasoline engines will be provided as options, respectively. That means the downsizing of the engine was considered. Palisade is also scheduled to be equipped with a hybrid powertrain for the first time, and the 2.5-liter gasoline turbo hybrid is expected to generate a total output of more than 300 horsepower.

Netizens who saw the expected new design of Palisade expressed various reactions as follows.; The design has become neater”, “It has similar lines to the Santa Fe, but the size has increased clearly.’’, “It’s neat and sophisticated,” “I would buy the vehicle with this kind of design even if it’s not a Palisade,” “It’s the best of the Palisade designs”, “It’s neat that the turn signal lights come vertically,” “It’s similar to Range Rover vehicle,” etc.
