Revealing the second permanent dual-livery design, paving the way for a new chapter in the skies
Riyadh Air, a new world-class airline fully owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia, has opened a new chapter in the skies by unveiling its second permanent dual-livery design at the Dubai Airshow 2023, ahead of its inaugural flight in 2025.
The latest livery maintains Riyadh Air’s indigo theme, adorned with stunning lines inspired by the intricate canopy of traditional Bedouin tents and the elegant curves of Arabic calligraphy. This bold new exterior features large cockpit window designs, and the indigo signature theme contrasts beautifully with the unique and pale sky-blue fuselage, reflecting Saudi Arabia’s vision of purity and a future-focused vision.
Riyadh Air has been assigned the IATA Airline Designator Code (RX) as it works to shape the future of air travel. In addition, the airline placed a large order for 72 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners last March, along with a contract for 90 GEnx engines to power its aircraft, and unveiled its first livery at the Paris Airshow in June.
In the very sophisticated second livery, the Riyadh Air aircraft, decorated with lavender and indigo paint, features a feather-shaped design at the rear of the fuselage, with the company name written in both English and Arabic, and the airline’s logo displayed on the tail, engines, and underside of the aircraft. The second livery uses a sky-blue color to reflect Saudi Arabia’s future-oriented ambitions to add modern elements to innovative designs. Thanks to the creative designs and bold, complex lettering, Riyadh Air is instantly recognizable on the ground and in the sky.
Established in March 2023 by Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Chairman of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), Riyadh Air aims to become the world’s most forward-thinking airline, adopting sustainability best practices, improving air travel, and setting new standards for reliability, comfort, and hospitality. As a catalyst for the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, Riyadh Air plays a crucial role in contributing to Saudi Arabia’s broader economic diversification and job creation efforts to achieve Vision 2030 goals. It plans to fly to more than 100 destinations, support a US$20 billion increase in the GDP of the KSA non-oil sector, and create more than 200,000 new jobs directly and indirectly worldwide and locally.
Tony Douglas, CEO of Riyadh Air, said, “We are delighted to unveil our second livery, which represents another expression of what the company aims to achieve.
