Family Involved in Traffic Accident in Germany
Footballer Harry Kane, remembered by domestic soccer fans as Son Heung-min’s partner, made headlines last summer when he left Son Heung-min’s side to join Bayern Munich, a strong contender in the German Bundesliga, in pursuit of a championship cup. The transfer fee at the time was about 146.6 billion KRW ($124 million), indicating Munich’s high expectations for him. However, contrary to expectations, Munich is facing the crisis of ending the year without a championship for the first time in 12 years.
Munich has been slipping in the league this season due to disagreements between players and coaches, injuries, and other misfortunes. Some even joke that ‘Harry Kane was the culprit behind Tottenham’s lack of championships.’ In preparation for the last remaining games, Harry Kane headed to London, and his family, who remained in Germany, got involved in a traffic accident.
Traffic Accident Involving Harry Kane’s Family Occurs Day Before Game
The day before the game, after arriving in the UK, Harry Kane’s family in Germany was involved in a traffic accident and had to be transported to the hospital. According to information released by the German police, on April 8, 2024, at around 5:15 p.m., a 20-year-old Renault driver caused an accident while attempting to make a left turn.
The Renault driver collided with a Mercedes Vito in the opposite lane while trying to enter the highway. The Renault car skidded due to the collision and finally stopped after hitting a Land Rover on the entrance ramp. The accident caused personal injury, requiring a helicopter to be dispatched, and significant material damage was reported.
Kane’s Three Children, Thankfully Unharmed
Harry Kane’s children were in the Mercedes for a trip.
Fortunately, his wife and youngest child, who is 7 months old, were not in the car, and the children involved in the accident were taken to the hospital as a precaution. A representative for Kane reported, “There was a collision, but the children are fine, and no one was hurt.”
The Renault passengers and a 62-year-old female Land Rover driver involved in this traffic accident reportedly suffered minor injuries such as headaches and neck pain. The people involved in the accident were transported to the hospital by helicopter and ambulance, and the accident scene was partially closed for about two hours.
