A woman living in the United States recently shared a video revealing that she was sent to the emergency room after eating ‘spicy ramen’ every week for six months.
Lucy Morad, a content creator from Washington State, USA, announced via a TikTok video that she was hospitalized after consuming Hot Chicken Flavor Ramen every week for six months.
Along with the video, the woman added hashtags like “kidney stones” and “mukbang” and wrote, “RIP to buldak (Hot chicken). I miss you, but my kidneys don’t.”
She said, “Over the past few months, I’ve been eating ‘this ramen’ more and more,” and described experiencing severe abdominal pain and cramps and discovering blood and small floating objects in her urine.

As a result of the examination, Lucy Morad was diagnosed with kidney stones and pain due to complications.
In connection with this, Dr. David Shusterman, a urologist from New York, warned that the complications could be related to the ramen.
Dr. Shusterman said, “Consuming processed foods like instant noodles, soup, and frozen meals can cause kidney stones.”
He added, “If left untreated, a kidney infection can spread into the bloodstream, leading to a condition known as sepsis.”

Meanwhile, Hot Chicken Flavor Ramen continues to gain attention overseas, continuing the “Buldak (Fire chicken) Myth.”
Last year, the cumulative sales of Hot Chicken Stir-fried Noodles surpassed 5 billion units, achieving a total revenue of over $1 billion.
Famous American rapper Cardi B drove for 30 minutes to purchase the Buldak Carbo Korean Spicy Hot Chicken Stir-Fried Noodles, and a teenage girl’s video of crying after receiving this ramen as a birthday gift became a hot topic on social media.
