BTS’s RM has released the music video for “Groin,” a track from his solo album Right Place, Wrong Person. The track “Groin” is an alternative hip-hop genre song that frankly expresses what one wants to say to people they dislike.
The music video for “Groin” was posted on HYBE Labels’ official YouTube channel on May 28.
In the released music video, RM appears free-spirited, fully embodying the song’s raw atmosphere and delivering powerful rap.
The video, filmed on the streets of London, showcases RM’s cool demeanor, expressive gestures, and nuanced facial acting. It is all brought together with sophisticated editing but without flashy special effects.
The director of the “Groin” music video, Pennacky from Japan, previously worked with RM on the 2022 music video for “Sexy Feeling (feat. RM of BTS).” Pennacky aimed to portray RM authentically: “I wanted to film RM as he is. Instead of meticulously planning the synopsis, we completed the video through real-time conversations with RM and the crew on set, which allowed us to capture interesting visuals. This resulted in a more natural music video.”
After its release on May 24, RM’s latest solo album quickly soared to the top of the Worldwide iTunes and European iTunes Album charts.
