Improve your quality of life with these
Hair dryer hacks
Today’s top tip is all about how to use your hairdryer. You’re probably wondering, isn’t a hairdryer just for drying hair?
Oh, how wrong you are! There are countless ways to use a hairdryer that can make your life easier.
From now on, I’ll share some fantastic hairdryer tips that I’ve learned over 10 years of living on my own. Everyone, open your eyes wide and focus!
1. Removing Sticker Labels
The first hack is all about removing sticker labels. If you’re a trustworthy housekeeper, you can’t help but love Daiso.
Many dishes from Daiso come with large labels on the bottom that says “Daiso.” You might want to peel them off quickly, but you’re worried about leaving traces of the label behind.
In this case, all you need is a hairdryer! Just blow warm air over the label for about 1-2 minutes, and you’ll see that it peels off cleanly, just like in the picture.
Remember, you only need a hairdryer to remove those stubborn sticker labels!
2. Removing Odors from Clothes
When you go to a restaurant like a barbecue place, the smell can easily stick to your clothes. While you can wash most clothes, it’s tricky to deal with padding for just this reason, and dry cleaning can be a hassle.
In this case, you only need some newspaper and a hairdryer, and you can say goodbye to the smell in your padding!
First, place the padding on the newspaper and cover it with more. Also, make sure to stuff the corners of the padding with newspaper. Then, blow warm air from the hairdryer, and you’re done.
The warm heat from the hairdryer causes the odor-causing molecules to evaporate, and the newspaper absorbs the smell, making it disappear.
From now on, prepare some newspaper and a hairdryer when your padding smells.
3. Stretching Tight Shoes
Have you ever bought new shoes only to find they’re too tight, causing blisters and foot pain? In this case, all you need to do is put on the new shoes with socks and blow warm air from the hairdryer for about 3 minutes.
Then, the shoes will stretch to fit your feet without ruining the shape so you can wear them comfortably and stylishly. Don’t let your new shoes give you blisters; wear them safely and beautifully.
4. Organizing Cable Wires
When you have only one cable wire, it’s not a problem, but when you have several plugged into a multi-tap, they can easily get tangled and look messy.
In this case, you only need a reasonably thick pen and a hairdryer, and you can neatly organize tangled cable wires into a tidy spring shape.
I used a whiteboard marker, but a regular marker with a consistent thickness works better for organizing cable wires.
First, wrap the cable wire evenly around the whiteboard marker, then blow the hairdryer on the lowest setting evenly over it. You should do this for about 4 minutes to get a uniform shape.
After blowing the air, voila, you have a neat spring-shaped cable wire. I recommend everyone try this out.
5. Extending the Life of Used Batteries
Sometimes, whether it’s an air conditioner remote or a TV remote, it suddenly stops working because the battery has run out. If you don’t have spare batteries on hand, it can be a bit of a predicament.
In this case, please remove the used batteries and blow warm air from the hairdryer on them for about 1 minute. The heat from the hairdryer’s air causes the chemical reaction inside the battery to become more active, generating electricity.
With this tip, you can extend the life of a battery that seems to be used up and use it a little longer!
6. Drying Slightly Damp Laundry
The last tip I’ll introduce is how to dry slightly damp laundry quickly and easily.
Have you ever rushed to get ready in the morning and found that your socks aren’t quite dry, or the ends of your pants or the elbows of your knitwear aren’t dry?
It feels damp and uncomfortable to go out like that, but there’s no time to wait for it to dry. In this case, you only need a plastic bag, a towel, and a hairdryer to solve the problem.
The method is straightforward. For slightly damp socks, put a towel in a plastic bag, then put the wet socks in and blow warm air from the hairdryer. This creates a similar effect to a dryer inside the plastic bag, allowing you to dry the slightly damp socks quickly.
If it’s not socks but knitwear or pants, prepare a larger plastic bag and towel!
