On the 4th, Australian travel specialist media Escape named Lotte Arai Resort as the ‘most beautiful ski resort in Japan.’ Escape selected the best ski resorts based on the results of on-site investigations conducted during their visit to Japan.

Escape praised the Lotte Arai Resort for offering a unique experience where visitors can enjoy skiing amidst cherry blossoms in late spring, as the resort operates the ski slopes until mid-May. In the Niigata area, where the Lotte Arai Resort is located, cherry blossoms usually bloom in early April.

The excellent accessibility and reasonable prices of Lotte Arai Resort also received high scores. The resort was praised for its convenient transportation, as it takes only two hours to reach Joetsu Myoko Station, near the resort, by Shinkansen high-speed rail from Tokyo. Additionally, the room rates are around 20,000 yen (approximately $180) per night, and the peak season ski pass for one day is priced at 6,600 yen (approximately $59.50), making it affordable for travelers to enjoy their trip.

Escape stated, “If you time your visit to Lotte Arai Resort to coincide with the cherry blossom season, you can enjoy both skiing and cherry blossom viewing simultaneously,” and evaluated it as “one of the most accessible ski resorts in Japan.”

Lotte Hotel Arai Resort has been receiving continuous praise on the global stage, solidifying its international stature. In July, Lotte Hotel Arai Resort won three awards at the ‘2023 Ski Asia Awards’. It took first place in three categories, including the best ski resort in Japan, ski powder resort, and snow sports school. The Ski Asia Awards are hosted by Ski Asia, which publishes online publications related to ski resorts in Asia.

Meanwhile, Lotte Hotel Arai Resort opened in December 2017 with 257 guest rooms. It also has facilities, including a ski resort with 14 courses, a zipline, a playground, a hot spring, a swimming pool, a spa, a fitness center, and a banquet hall.
