On the 23rd, YTN reported that a public official was recently disciplined for exposing herself during an internet broadcast while at work in her office.

In her 20s, the female official, referred to as A, received a three-month suspension after she repeatedly exposed herself during live streaming on a social media platform from her office and the department’s restroom.

After the broadcast revealed her department’s name and organizational chart, someone reported Official A, who works in a department responsible for national development projects, to the national complaint center.

A representative from the department stated, “We couldn’t confirm that A generated income through the live streaming, but we decided to impose disciplinary measures for violations such as failure to maintain dignity.”

Previously, someone caught another female public official, referred to as B, working as a live-streamer on an X-rated streaming show.

Public official C reported B, saying, “I was shocked and appalled to see B doing an X-rated live streaming. About a thousand people watched at the time. B repeatedly admitted that she was a public official.”

The department that received the report has begun an audit of B.

The department is investigating whether B violated professional ethics and the duty to maintain dignity under the Public Officials Act.

It is against the principle of prohibition of concurrent jobs under the National Public Service Regulations for public officials to generate separate income, and this can lead to severe disciplinary actions.

Even if they receive permission to conduct profitable business, they must not let it affect their job performance. They also must not bring disgrace to the government.
