Warner Brothers Studio is a theme park that recreates the props, costumes, and sets used by the production team of the Harry Potter films.

It includes replicas of the Hogwarts Great Hall, Gryffindor Common Room, Hogsmeade Station, and a magical shopping district featured in the movies.

As Harry Potter’s filming location was in London, you had to travel to London to visit the Warner Brothers Harry Potter Studio.

However, in June, Warner Brothers opened the first Harry Potter theme park in Asia in Japan.

Warner Brothers Studio transformed the former Toshimaen Amusement Park in Tokyo, Japan, into the Harry Potter theme park, The Making of Harry Potter.

Warner Brothers Studio opened the doors to its second Harry Potter studio worldwide and the first in Asia after London.

Moreover, The Making of Harry Potter theme park in Tokyo spans an impressive 29,752 square meters (96,875 square feet). This makes it the world’s largest Harry Potter studio, even larger than the one in London.

The first set you can see in the theme park is the Great Hall. Here, the mannequins wear the actual costumes used during filming, and the floor consists of the tiles from the film sets, allowing visitors to enter the Harry Potter world.

There are several projects at the Harry Potter Studio that you can directly participate in. One of them is the Quidditch Experience.

Following the staff’s guidance, they add computer graphics to create a video that makes you feel like you are in the Harry Potter world. You can purchase all the videos shot at each booth for 5,000 yen (about $45).

The Forbidden Forest here also perfectly synchronizes with the movie. The design captures the eerie and dim atmosphere seen in the film well.

The park also realistically reproduces Privet Drive, where Harry Potter spent his childhood. Everything from Harry Potter’s attic room to the letters pouring from the fireplace resembles the movie.

A must-visit spot for Harry Potter is the Hogwarts platform, Platform 9 and 3/4. Taking a photo with a shopping cart going through the wall here is a must-do at the Harry Potter Studio.

In addition, the park features the Department of Magic, where teleportation is possible, and Diagon Alley, home to various magic shops. Finally, the magnificent Hogwarts Castle concludes the exhibition.

In the Harry Potter Studio restaurant, which has many things to see and experience, you can also taste various foods that appear in the movie.

The representative food is Butterbeer. Contrary to its name, it is a non-alcoholic beverage with a unique taste that does not taste like beer at all. It costs 1,100 yen (about $10) each, and after you finish drinking, you can clean the Butterbeer cup and take it home.

The final course of the Harry Potter Studio is a souvenir shop. Here, they sell memorabilia such as books, postcards, key rings, props like broomsticks, wands, and uniforms.

In addition, they also sell Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans, Chocolate Frog, and Love Potion, which are signature snacks for Harry Potter merchandise.

Meanwhile, Warner Brothers Studio Tour Tokyo – The Making of Harry Potter theme park does not sell entrance tickets on-site; you can only purchase them through online pre-booking.

The price of admission is 6,999 yen (about $63) for adults, 5,888 yen (about $53) for teenagers, and 4,200 yen (about $38) for children.
