When you actually see the waterfall, you’re often amazed by its enormous size.

The ‘9/11 Memorial Park’ is located in Manhattan, New York City.
Its formal name is the ‘National September 11 Memorial & Museum’.
This place was established to honor the victims of the ‘9/11 Terror’ that occurred at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.
The 110-story Twin Towers collapsed due to the terror attack, taking the lives of 2,753 people.

At the time, President George W. Bush declared a ‘War on Terror’.
The U.S. government began building the 9/11 Memorial Park right in the middle of Manhattan, known to be the most expensive land in the world.
The museum preserves materials related to the victims and exhibits of the scene immediately following the terror attack.

The designer of the memorial park, Israeli architect Michael Arad, said, “I made the memorial park like an everyday urban space so that it could become the symbol of New York overcoming the great wound of the 9/11 terror”.

In place of the original World Trade Center 1 and 2 buildings, there are square-shaped artificial waterfalls.
These are the exact locations where Towers 1 and 2 collapsed due to the terror attack.
There are two pools, each with a large hole and a waterfall installed.

The structure allows water to flow inwards from the outside.
This symbolizes the tears shed by the victims’ families and Americans due to the terror attack.
Each pool covers an area of about 13,000 square feet, with water flowing at a rate of about 3,000 gallons per minute.

The names of the victims are engraved around the waterfall.
At the 9/11 Memorial Park, flowers are placed at the spot where the victims’ names are engraved, on their birthdays.

The park is home to a forest of over 400 oak trees.
The oak trees, brought from five different states near New York, take into account the fact that most of the victims lived within 500 miles of the accident site in these five states.
Today, this place remains a symbol of New York.

The massive rectangular lawn measures about 2 miles in length and 1,600 feet in width. In the center stands the ‘Washington Monument’, the tallest structure in Washington D.C.
The Washington Monument stands at a height of 555 feet.
The National Mall features national symbolic spaces such as the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument.
To the east is the U.S. Capitol, and to the north is the White House.
It also operates various cultural and artistic facilities.

The National Mall hosts around 9,000 various national events each year.
It serves as a place for emotional interaction with the people.
The National Mall, at the center of Washington’s history, is a great place to lose track of time while exploring.
