Dr. Vikas Prinja, a dentist from the UK, has shared symptoms that precede oral cancer.

According to health authorities, mouth cancer rates are soaring, and it’s got a poor survival rate because it’s caught so late.

In response, Dr. Vikas Prinja has posted to TikTok to urge people to become more aware of the main symptoms of the disease.

The first of the four signs is an ulcer that is not healing. The second is numbness and tingling of the lips, chin, or tongue.

The third is the presence of white or red patches inside your mouth. Lastly, he pointed to the unexplained wobbly teeth.

Dr. Vikas Prinja also added some key things patients must be aware of.

The first is that alcohol and tobacco use are considered the highest risk for developing mouth cancer. Second, there is evidence to suggest that infection with HPV (Human Papillomavirus) can be a precursor to oral cancer.

Another attributing factor is poor oral health, if there are broken or jagged teeth then they can cause ulcers in the mouth, which may become cancerous if they are unable to heal.

Fourth, overexposure to the sun can increase the risk of lip cancer, so patients should remain vigilant during the summer.

Millions of people have viewed the video shared by Dr. Vikas Prinja.
