Hello, this is Lulluhome. My husband and I welcomed our first child in February 2020 and lived happily ever after. Our child was so adorable that we thought raising all our children at once would be best, so we planned for a second one. In the process, we started looking for a house with plenty of rooms, and my husband had always dreamed of living in a house. After much searching, we found this townhouse. We fell in love with it at first sight.
About a month after moving into our dream house and starting what felt like a dream interior design, we had an ultrasound for our second child. To our surprise, it was twins! So, we had to modify our planned interior and space division slightly. Now, we love the uniqueness of our family, where the ratio of children to adults is higher, and we are accumulating memories in this house with a yard.
Now, let me show you our family’s house life. I hope you enjoy it.

Interior for a house with children
Before I show you the space in detail, let me tell you what I value most in interior design. It’s storage. With so many children, I couldn’t ignore the amount of stuff the children had. If things are not in their place and are scattered around, there is a risk of the children stepping on them and falling or getting hurt, so I tried to place living boxes and storage cabinets here and there.
Thanks to that, the house became even cleaner and neater, and it looked even more beautiful when I saw its intended look. If the house is messy, the mind is also messy, and it would have been hard to stick around in the house.
My secret to maintaining a pretty house is tidying up as it comes. Instead of waiting for the big cleaning day, I take care of things like shaking out the bedding, running the vacuum cleaner, storing the dishes in the dishwasher, and storing toys after sending the kids to school. Investing just 30 minutes a day adds up, and you don’t need a big clean-up every day.
Tour of the space
| Entrance
Shall we go in through the entrance? The most important things I considered when decorating this place were comfort and cleanliness. I am so interested in geomancy that I can tell whether luck enters a house by looking at the entrance.
So, I tried to store things inside using pantries and living boxes at the entrance. If many things are at the entrance, which is important in geomancy, it will be difficult for luck.
In addition, when decorating the entrance, I pursued practicality and made the overall atmosphere neat. Thanks to this, a pleasant and bright space was completed where the outside sunlight came in brightly.
| A monotone living room with a piano
The next space I will show you is the main living room on the 2nd floor. Our house is divided into spaces where children can run around and feel comfortable. Thanks to this, the living room on the 1st floor has become a mini living room for children who find it challenging to go up and down the stairs. On the other hand, the space on the 2nd floor has become the main living room for my husband and me.
The main living room, where the wall, floor, and furniture colors are monotonous, was decorated with my monotone taste. The piano, a point furniture in the center, was also chosen in white, so when I sit on the sofa and look at the living room, it feels clean without any clutter. These days, after sending the children to school, I often spend the morning practicing the piano in the main living room.
| A heavy wood-toned kitchen
The next place I will show you is the kitchen.
When designing the kitchen, I had a lot of thought about the structure. Before moving, I had always used a ㄷ-shaped kitchen, so I considered making it = shaped this time. However, I couldn’t forget the familiarity and convenience of the previous kitchen, so I created a ㄷ-shaped kitchen again.
I like the white tone, but somehow, I felt the space would float, so I added a heavy feeling to the bottom by making the cabinets with dark wood. The floor is porcelain tile in a beige tone, so instead of using a similar bright tone, I wanted to give a point with dark wood.
If I had to pick the most satisfying construction in the kitchen, it would be the storage cabinet. Whenever there was leftover space, I built a storage cabinet to maximize storage space. This allowed me to hide many kitchen utensils and create a cleaner-looking kitchen.
| A Bedroom that Resembles a European Hotel for the Couple
The next space I will show you is the bedroom. When building this house, I had twins in my tummy, so instead of decorating the surroundings, I wanted a comfortable space with a large bed in the middle. Naturally, the concept of the bedroom became a resting space.
The highlight of the bedroom is the woodwork point on the wall. I like European-style hotels, so I tried to give a similar mood, and thanks to the wainscoting molding, it seems more elegant.
| Dressing Room
Our house has two dressing rooms, one in the master bedroom and one for the family. As I had to organize seasonal children’s and adult clothes, I focused on creating a practical space by placing a system storage cabinet in the dressing room.
When storing clothes, I separated them for children and adults so they would be easy to find and not mixed. If you look closely, many living boxes are in our dressing room. I stored all the knit clothes that easily stretch at the neck and shoulder when hung on a hanger. This way, the clothes aren’t damaged and easy to take out later. Can I call it my storage tip?
| Bathroom with a Family Bath
The last space I will show you is the bathroom. There are several bathrooms; among them, I would like to introduce the master bathroom and the family bath, which have unique points.
The first picture is the master bathroom decorated like a hotel. I prefer a dry bathroom, so I designed it so that I only need to clean the places where it is wet, and I think it made cleaning much easier. There’s no worry of slipping even when just washing hands.
This is the family bath that all the family members use together. I installed a large bathtub so the children can have fun, like playing in the water when bathing. When you open the window, you can feel like you’re in an outdoor hot spring, so I often use it when I’m tired or need a break.
Invite you to the second housewarming party
I’ve introduced our family’s space in our house so far; I hope you all enjoyed it. Unfortunately, there are still many spaces that I haven’t introduced due to lack of space. If you’re curious about other spaces in our house, coming to the next housewarming party would be great.
I’ve grown myself from the sunroom filled with various green plants, the playroom and children’s room where the children play like a kid’s cafe after kindergarten, and the garden with roses and hydrangeas. While preparing the second story of a family home with a higher ratio of children than adults, I will finish the article. I hope you have a good day until we meet again.
