Of course, South Korea also has gorgeous beaches that are no less impressive than those abroad, but it’s natural to dream of visiting exotic landscapes that we rarely see. Bahamas – Pink Sand Beach
The Bahamas is fantastic for tourists as the temperature rarely drops below 70°F. One thing that makes the Bahamas even more attractive is its “Pink Sand Beach.” The pink sand, which looks like cotton candy, is said to be due to a creature called foraminifera. These tiny creatures with bright pink shells mix with the sand to create a fantastic pink sand beach. The Pink Sand Beach stretches for about 3 miles.
Australia – Shell Beach, Shark Bay
In Shark Bay, Western Australia, you can find many mysterious things. Monkey Mia and Hamelin Pool are famous among them, but the place that attracts many tourists is “Shell Beach.” As the name suggests, this beach is covered with seashells. When a type of clam known as cockle dies in the water, its shells drift to the shore, accumulating there to form Shark Bay’s Shell Beach.
Maldives – Sea of Stars
The “Sea of Stars” in the Maldives offers a spectacle like a galaxy spread out over the sea. Located on Vaadhoo Island, this beach is home to bioluminescent plankton. When the plankton reacts with oxygen due to waves or shocks in the water, they emit light. These lights come together to decorate the beach like a galaxy. You can see a spectacle here that seems like computer graphics created it and doesn’t seem to belong to this world.
California – Glass Beach
On the northern Pacific coast of California, there is a unique beach where garbage has created a beautiful sight. Known as “Glass Beach,” this place was a dumpsite for glass bottles, appliances, cars, and more from 1906 to 1967. Authorities closed the area in 1967 due to the problem of illegal dumping. Over 30 years without human touch, the discarded glass pieces were worn and smoothed by the waves and sand, eventually creating a beach of shining glass.
Mexico – Marieta Hidden Beach
Marieta Hidden Beach in Mexico, also known as “Love Beach,” is a unique beach in a large hole in the island’s center. This place was formed when the Mexican government created a crater for military explosion tests connected with the sea. The Mexican government currently restricts the number of people who can enter Marieta Island to 30 per day and limits the time to 15 minutes for nature conservation.
Seychelles – Grand Anse Beach
Grand Anse Beach in the Republic of Seychelles, an island nation in the eastern Indian Ocean, was chosen by CNN as a “must-visit destination before you die.” Prince William and Kate Middleton also chose it as a honeymoon destination. The transparent sea stretches between the granite rocks on both sides of the beach, creating a spectacular view. The island is known for its high waves, making it a popular surf spot. The beach has designated areas where tourists can swim.
Italy – Rabbit Beach
Lampedusa Island is located at the southernmost tip of Italy and in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, near Africa. A place you can visit here is “Rabbit Beach.” Contrary to its name, it’s not a beach where rabbits live but a beach with a white sandy beach where numerous sea turtles lay their eggs. Every August, seeing numerous sea turtles moving to the sea is world-famous.
Greece – Navagio Beach, Zakynthos Island
Navagio Beach in Greece is located on Zakynthos Island in the Ionian Islands. This place is surrounded by cliffs over 330 feet high, only accessible by boat. On this beach, you can find a large shipwreck. This ship is said to be a wreck left by smugglers who encountered a storm and ran away. On sunny days, you can enjoy the landscape of the blue sea.
Croatia – Zlatni Rat Beach
Croatia’s Zlatni Rat beach is also listed as a beautiful seaside. Located in the Adriatic Sea, this horn-shaped beach is also famous as the filming location for the variety show “Sisters Over Flowers.” This beach is known to change its shape depending on the direction of the tide and wind. The place is always windy, making it an ideal space for surfers to practice. You can find institutions that teach diving and windsurfing here.
Spain – Gulpiyuri Beach
In northern Spain, there is a strange beach called Gulpiyuri. Unlike a typical beach, this beach is surrounded by mountains and meadows. The beach connected to the cliffs below was formed over millions of years due to erosion by waves. Although the structure itself is pretty strange, its size is not that large.
