Girls’ Generation member Hyoyeon shared her recent whereabouts from Bali. Hyoyeon headed to Bali after the ‘SMTOWN LIVE’ concert at Tokyo Dome in February.
Through Hyoyeon’s social media, fans could glimpse her trip, with several photos taken in Bali. She showed off her toned physique in a bikini, garring explosive reactions from her fans. Let’s take a closer look at her recent updates and travel photos.
Hyoyeon shared photos of her visit to a beach club with the caption “Nyepi Day Eve Festival.” Nyepi Day is the biggest festival in Bali, considered a sacred day in Hindu culture, and occurs once a year. “Nyepi” means silence and tranquility.
As it’s a “Day of Silence,” all activities on the island are suspended from 6 a.m. until 6 a.m. the next day. Going out on the streets is prohibited, and even electricity use is suspended. Television and radio broadcasts are also halted. Even the Bali International Airport temporarily closes.
For travelers to Bali, it’s essential to note that check-ins and check-outs are not possible during Nyepi Day. It’s a day to pause daily life, pray to the gods, and reflect. On this day, all shops close, and the streets are empty.
Various celebrations take place during the Eve festival leading up to Nyepi Day. Traditional dance performances and parades are held on the streets. The grand parade of the giant demon effigies, Ogoh-Ogoh, is the highlight of the festival. Many travelers plan their Bali trips around this time to enjoy the Eve festival and spend Nyepi Day quietly.
Hyoyeon enjoyed a lively time at the beach club before Nyepi Day began. Bali has numerous beach clubs, and Hyoyeon visited the Luna Beach Club. This newly opened beach club is situated amidst nature and is perfect for a relaxing vacation.
It’s a popular spot among tourists with luxurious facilities and various activities. In particular, the Luna Beach Club offers a breathtaking sunset view, genuinely embodying the beach resort atmosphere.
Visitors have left reviews such as “Everything is well-made, and the service exceeds my expectations,” “Everything is new since it just opened,” and “A beautifully designed new beach club in Bali.” Hyoyeon enjoyed her vacation there, going down water slides and swimming.

After enjoying Bali, Hyoyeon traveled to Gili Trawangan, an island destination in Indonesia. Though less known than Bali, Gili Trawangan is loved by Western travelers.
Gili Trawangan is a small island that can be explored daily by bicycle. Motorized vehicles are not allowed on the island in order to preserve its natural environment. To get to Gili Trawangan from Bali, you must take a boat from Padang Bai Harbor, which takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
During her visit to Gili Trawangan, Hyoyeon posted pictures capturing the island’s beauty. She spent leisurely time on the beach and also enjoyed snorkeling. Gili Trawangan is also a popular destination for divers, where one can observe numerous marine creatures in the clear sea.
The island offers various snorkeling spots, bringing joy to the eyes. Mainly, heading north, you can spot sea turtles without going far. The island is indeed endowed with pristine nature. Hyoyeon also shared a photo of herself snorkeling and encountering a sea turtle.
Among Gili’s famous snorkeling spots, Turtle Beach is known for frequent turtle sightings. Gili Meno is where 48 life-sized underwater statues stand, artwork by Jason de Caires Taylor. These add a sense of mystery to the waters of Gili.
Gili Trawangan is a beloved travel destination, offering a different vibe from Bali. Although it’s less accessible compared to Bali, it’s a great place to visit for travelers with some time to spare.
