A Man Spent $8,500 on Hair Transplant Surgery
Suffers From Unexpected Side Effects
Pus Continuously Oozes From Transplant Site
Thus, Speaks on Four Towels
A shocking side effect occurred in a man who spent $11,000 on hair transplant surgery.
Recently, Beijing News featured the story of a man who spent 70,000 Yuan (approximately $11,000) on a hair transplant surgery.
Mr. Nan Wuyan, 37, had suffered from hair loss since his early twenties. His condition, a hereditary type of baldness, worsened as he aged and faced increasing job-related stress.
According to a friend’s recommendation, Mr. Nan visited Beijing, where a doctor suggested he undergo a hair transplant involving 5,000 strands of hair. He chose a mid-range package at the hospital, costing over 50,000 yuan ($7,900).
Upon completing his surgery in late January 2022, Mr. Nan realized that the advertisement claiming he could “receive a hair transplant in the morning and go to work in the afternoon” was false.
After the surgery, Mr. Nan found his clothes constantly covered in scabs when walking, dressing, and attending meetings.
Two weeks after the surgery, the transplant site continuously leaked pus.
He lamented, “My head feels half full of water and half like a sponge, constantly oozing pus. I have to spread out four towels when I sleep.”
Adding to his woes, Mr. Nan spent an additional 19,800 yuan (approximately $3,130) on weekly injections and health supplements, but his hair loss showed no signs of improvement.
Despite Mr. Nan’s side effects, the hospital maintains a claimed success rate of 95%. He voiced his complaints to the hospital, but when they proved ineffective, he took his grievances to online communities.
