The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported on the 7th (local time) that concerns are growing among the company’s management and board of directors as Elon Musk CEO of Tesla has been accused of drug use.
According to the WSJ, anonymous informants who are knowledgeable about the matter claimed that they know Musk has often used psychoactive drugs such as LSD (Lysergic Acid Diethylamide), cocaine, ecstasy, and hallucinogenic mushrooms at private parties. Some associates close to Musk told the WSJ that his drug use is ongoing particularly his use of Ketamine.
This is not the first time Musk’s drug use has been a controversy.
The WSJ also reported in July of last year, citing internal sources that Musk used Ketamine for depression treatment or entertainment.
Furthermore, in September 2018 he sparked controversy when he appeared on comedian Joe Rogan’s podcast show and took a puff of marijuana offered by the host.
However, Musk’s legal team immediately dismissed the report as ‘incorrect facts’.
His lawyer, Alex Spiro, explained, “Musk has regularly or unexpectedly been drug tested at SpaceX and has never failed a test”.
Musk also denied the allegations, stating on social media (formerly Twitter) that he had accepted NASA’s request for random drug tests for three years after his marijuana incident, but no drugs or alcohol were detected in the tests.
