A divorce lawsuit involving a couple in China has caused a stir.
Chen Zesen, who filed for divorce, married his wife, Wei, in 2007 and lived a married life for 16 years. He filed for divorce after discovering his wife’s infidelity.
Chen, who lived far away from his wife and three daughters to support his family, had no idea about his wife’s affair because he often made voice and video calls with her.
However, he began to suspect something when his housewife wife gradually stopped answering calls and started saying that she wanted to leave home and work.
Chen, who eventually caught his wife checking out of a hotel with her lover, conducted a paternity test on his youngest daughter.
The test results revealed that his youngest daughter was not his biological child. Despite this, Chen decided not to divorce to maintain his family.
However, the situation changed when shocking test results revealed that the other two daughters were also not his biological children.
When Chen filed a divorce lawsuit against his wife, Wei, asking for a refund of the child-rearing expenses and compensation for mental damage, Wei suddenly disappeared.
Chen had no choice but to ask the media for help. He appeared on Jiangxi Radio and TV broadcasting and cried out, “I had three daughters during my 16 years of marriage, but none of them were my children”.
Wei, who was exposed through the station’s coverage, counterattacked, saying, “Is the biological father-daughter relationship important?” and “My three daughters have called Chen ‘Dad’ for years, and now Chen says they are not his daughters. What makes Chen different from beasts?”
In response, a public trial was held in December last year for this divorce lawsuit at the DeXing People’s Court in Jiangxi.
