Woman Abandons Dog Before Moving, Asks if It Can Be Euthanized
The Dog is Currently in a Shelter
A woman living in New Jersey, USA, has caused shock by contacting an animal shelter to ask if her 13-year-old dog could be euthanized because she was moving.
An animal shelter worker recently revealed that an anonymous woman called the shelter and said, “I can’t take him with me as I’m moving into a new house. If possible, can you euthanize my 13-year-old dog?”
Shocked and saddened by the owner’s request to euthanize her long-time pet, the shelter workers decided to take the dog, named Jack, to a foster home.
When shelter workers visited the house, Jack seemed to cry as if he knew his fate. His tears in the released photos touched many people’s hearts.
Unlike Jack, who was only sad about his separation from his owner, it was reported that the owner left without looking back or saying goodbye when she left him at the shelter, causing resentment.
Shelter workers found evidence of neglect during his time with his owner, noting that he was in very poor physical condition, with a severe eye infection and nails that hadn’t been trimmed for more than a year.
After being examined by a veterinarian, Jack was diagnosed with uncontrollable severe arthritis, elbow enlargement, muscle atrophy, tooth fractures, dental disease, hearing loss, conjunctivitis, dermatitis, laryngeal paralysis, bladder stones, neurological damage, and other conditions.
To treat Jack, veterinarians administered various medications, and his condition has improved since then.
After treatment, Jack can move normally and is recovering at Uncle Neil’s Home Animal Sanctuary.
Uncle Neil’s Home is fundraising to help Jack live a normal life.
