A group of people who took drugs collectively have been sent to the prosecutor’s office.
According to the police on the 23rd, the Jongno Police Station in Seoul arrested five men and women on suspicion of administering drugs inside a residence in Pyeongchang-dong, Jongno-gu, around 9 a.m. on the 11th, and handed over four of them to the prosecutor’s office.
The police received a report from a woman at around 8 a.m. that day saying, “My husband might die,” and classified it as a domestic violence case before making an emergency dispatch.
However, no signs of assault or similar circumstances were found at the reported residence. Instead, several adult men and women were gathered there, their speech was slurred or they were staggering, and there were traces of needle marks on their arms.
Also, a makeshift safe containing drugs was found at the scene. The safe contained a large amount of drugs, including methamphetamine, along with drug administration tools.
In response, the police arrested a total of five people, including the four men and women who were sent to the prosecutor’s office this time and another suspect at the scene.
The four who were sent tested positive in a preliminary drug test. The other one, who was not sent, tested negative in the preliminary drug test.
A police official said, “No celebrities or famous people were included,” and added, “We are further investigating the route of drug acquisition, their crimes, and whether there are additional drug users.”
