A shocking story about a father’s genitals being tied up with plastic is causing a stir.

On the 29th, Maeil Economy reported an interview with Ms. Park Jung Sook (35), who admitted her father to a nursing home in Daejeon.

According to the report, Ms. Park admitted her father-in-law, who is in his 70s, to a nursing home in Daejeon last year. He had surgery for diabetes complications and was admitted for recovery.

However, less than a month later, his overall physical condition worsened, including difficulty breathing, fever, increased inflammation, and kidney function, and he was transferred to a university hospital emergency room. He developed bedsores that weren’t there before his admission to the nursing home, and his weight noticeably decreased.

Ms. Park claimed, “At the university hospital when they saw the progress of the bedsores and the location of the lesions, they said it had worsened because ‘turning and repositioning was not properly done (at the nursing home).’ I was shocked when family members pulled down his pants to urinate. His genitals were tightly wrapped in plastic.”

The family protested to the nursing home, but the administrative manager refuted, “We can’t control (all the actions of the caregivers).” This nursing home is a hospital that received a grade 2 in an evaluation conducted by the Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service for nationwide nursing homes.

The media tried to contact this nursing home to hear their position on this incident, but it is reported that they did not receive a response.
