On the 4th (local time), Argentina’s Coast Guard reportedly conducted an emergency rescue of a crew member from a Korean fishing vessel operating in Chubut Province, according to local state-run news agency Telam and daily newspaper Clarin.
According to local media, the captain of the Korean fishing vessel ‘Namdong 707’ (SUR ESTE 707), operating about 54 miles away from the capital of Chubut Province, urgently contacted the Argentine Coast Guard to report that there was a crew member on board who was experiencing difficulty breathing
and severe chest pain.
A doctor affiliated with the Coast Guard determined the crew member’s condition was critical after a phone conversation with the vessel’s staff, and immediately requested an emergency transfer using a helicopter.
In response, the Argentine Coast Guard decided to deploy a helicopter, and the Coast Guard’s special rescue team arrived in the area from Comodoro Rivadavia Airport in Chubut Province via helicopter.

Local media reported that the rescue team successfully placed the crew member suffering from respiratory difficulties in a medical basket lowered from the helicopter, and then lifted the basket back into the helicopter.
The Coast Guard said the rescued sailor was a 58-year-old South Korean national, and that he was taken by ambulance to a hospital in the city of Trelew after reaching the ground safely by helicopter.
