Thailand’s ‘Heir to $5.5 Billion Fortune
Dies Suddenly From Unknown Causes
With a Past History of Being Poisoned
Recently, in Thailand, a report of an unexplained death was received.
On the 12th (local time), Lieutenant Thanakrit Salangam from Bang Mat Naeng Police Station received a death report.
Upon arriving at the crime scene, a two-story house, Preecha Hruanploy (42), was found dead in a bedroom on the first floor.
Preecha was found dead in square-cut briefs without a shirt, with no visible injuries or signs of struggle.
Preecha was previously reported in the news as having been in a dispute with a relative over land inheritance worth 150 million baht (about 5.5 billion won or approximately $4.7 million).
Preecha’s wife, who lived with him for three years, reported that she attempted to wake him up in the morning, but the door was locked, unlike usual.
She thought her husband couldn’t get up because he was tired from staying up late with relatives the day before, so she went out to take the children to school.
Upon hearing the news of her husband’s death, she said, “My husband had complained of chest pain after exercising the previous afternoon, but I didn’t pay much attention because he had congenital asthma.”
However, she requested the coroner to investigate the cause of death, saying, “There were no warning signs related to asthma.”
This is because Preecha had previously survived a poisoning attempt. After being released from prison in 2018, he was taken to the hospital with difficulty breathing and feeling suffocated while dining at a relative’s house.
