The apartment community facility has various amenities for residents, including a sauna and a kid’s cafe. The notice pertains to the theft of hairdryers in the sauna.

The community management expressed remorse in the notice, stating that despite taking measures to prevent theft, the incident still occurred in the sauna area where no security cameras were installed.

According to the notice, there were 33 units of brand A hairdryers in the men’s sauna and 44 units of the same brand in the women’s sauna.

As of now, there are only 31 hairdryers available in the women’s sauna. According to the community management, six require repairs, while seven have been stolen and are now missing. Meanwhile, the men’s sauna has 33 hairdryers, which remains the same.

The stolen hairdryers from brand A are known to be high-end products, costing about 500,000 won each (approximately $420) this month.

The community management has announced that they are taking action in response to recent incidents in the women’s sauna. They are in the process of replacing the hairdryers with different models. Additionally, they plan to attach serial numbers to the hairdryers and work closely with the sauna staff to prevent such incidents from happening again through more meticulous management.

In December of last year, multiple instances of soap went missing from a women’s sauna in an apartment in Seocho-gu, Seoul. As a result, the apartment stopped providing soap entirely.

As per Article 329 of the current Criminal Law, property theft against the owner’s will can result in a maximum sentence of six years in prison or a fine of up to 10 million won (about $8,400).
