A man in his 20s experienced a terrifying incident when he collapsed from carbon monoxide poisoning while taking a shower with a gas water heater turned on.
An online media outlet, Sanook, reported that a doctor shared the case in writing. The man, who is 28 years old, had entered the shower, and when he did not come out after 30 minutes without any movement, his family broke down the door.
Upon entering, they found him unconscious on the floor and immediately called an ambulance.
Initially, the man received a diagnosis of epilepsy and was prescribed medication, but it was later revealed that he had never had epilepsy, prompting further tests.
The test results showed that his hemoglobin and carbon monoxide levels reached 60%.
Upon further investigation, it was found that he was using a gas water heater at home, and there were no windows in the bathroom for external ventilation.
An enclosed bathroom can easily lead to carbon monoxide poisoning, highlighting the importance of indoor ventilation. Inhaling large amounts of carbon monoxide can unknowingly lead a person into a coma. This condition can be fatal without immediate treatment, underscoring the need for caution.
