A heart-wrenching discovery came to light after a couple installed a surveillance camera in their home to figure out why their 2-year-old daughter was crying at night. According to Thai media outlet Sanook, Kunli, a Chinese woman who had recently given birth, found distressing footage that no parent should ever see.
Kunli and her husband tried to spend as much time with their daughter as possible, but both had to go to work to make a living.
When their daughter turned 4 months old, Kunli asked her mother to take care of the baby while she and her husband were at work.
However, when their daughter turned 2, Kunli’s mother had to return home to take care of her son’s child. So, Kunli searched online thoroughly and hired a gentle and attentive babysitter.
For a few days, Kunli noted that her daughter’s behavior seemed normal when she returned home from work.
As time passed, Kunli and her husband noticed their daughter crying every night—a troubling pattern that persisted for days and set off alarm bells. Suspecting something was amiss with the babysitter, Kunli decided to install a surveillance camera to get to the bottom of the issue.
The footage was chilling. While the babysitter appeared kind and considerate when Kunli and her husband were around, she was revealed to be verbally abusive and harsh with the little girl when alone. The distressing video showed the babysitter frequently scolding, shouting at, and mistreating their daughter.
The fear inflicted on the child was evident. The little girl would sit silently and cry in terror at night, terrified of her caregiver.
Shocked and outraged, Kunli took immediate action. She reported the babysitter to the police and called for legal consequences. To protect other families, she also posted the footage online.
Kunli urged other parents to be vigilant when choosing a babysitter. “Violence against children can happen at any time,” she said. “Kids are too young to defend themselves against such abuse. Parents need to be extremely cautious to prevent these kinds of painful incidents.”
