An anecdote from India involving a one-year-old child who mistakenly killed a snake, believing it to be a toy, has become a topic of discussion.
Hindustan Times reported that a 12-month-old boy from Gaya district in Bihar mistook the snake for a toy and grabbed it to play with.
It was reported that a child was playing with the snake on the house terrace and killed it by biting it.
Later, his family discovered the snake’s corpse next to the boy, who had been playing alone on the terrace. They were terrified and immediately took him to a nearby medical center. After examinations at the hospital, the child was reported to be okay, and the snake was determined to be non-venomous. It is said that snakes are often found in the area during the monsoon season.
After the incident, the father shared a video of his son online.
In the video released, the child is seen being held by his mother and looking at the camera. A man, presumably his father, also shows the camera the snake, which was crushed after being bitten by the child.
Meanwhile, in the same region in July, a venomous snake attacked a worker while preparing to sleep.
The man attacked the snake with a weapon and killed it by biting it.
He was quickly taken to the hospital for treatment and reportedly recovered swiftly.
