North Korea Praises Hangul as the Simplest and Most Superior Script North Korea has introduced the Korean alphabet (Hangul) as "the world's most excellent script in terms of science, originality and rationality, as recognized by the world's linguistic community."North Korea's state media said on Feb. 22, "There are more than 6,000 languages in the world, and among them about 2,900 languages with their own unique scripts, but the Korean alphabet (Hangul) has been recognized as 'the simplest and most excellent script in the world.'"
