The satellite was launched aboard the Chang'e-5 carrier rocket Yao-7 and reportedly landed successfully in its scheduled orbit. According to Chinese media, the satellite is mainly used to conduct multi-band, high-speed satellite communications technology verification, and the Chang'e-5 rocket is an indigenously developed, ultra-large rocket, also known as the "Fat Five".
