Apple Official Service Center Refuses to Repair ‘Counterfeit iPhone’
The mobile phone in question had been repaired without any issues just a month ago.
The telecom company that sold the product also certified it as ‘authentic’… Apple remains silent on the grounds for its ‘counterfeit’ judgement.
Apple’s ‘After-Sales Service Controversy’ has been ongoing for several years… Critics argue it infringes even the right to know of consumers

The iPhone 12 Mini of Mr. Kwak (53). Apple, which had recognized the product as ‘authentic’ and repaired it a month ago, judged it as a ‘counterfeit’ this time because the purple color on the side was not deeply colored. Provided by the informant

Mr. Kwak informed the staff of this fact, but was told, “We cannot proceed with the service because we judged it as a ‘counterfeit’ (not because the phone had been repaired unofficially),” and “There was no explanation other than to contact the telecom company,” leaving him feeling aggrieved.

The LG Uplus dealership, which had sold the problematic phone to Mr. Kwak, immediately checked the phone’s activation history and informed him that it was ‘authentic’. A few days later, LG Uplus’ head office also officially responded, stating that ‘Mr. Kwak’s product is an official product supplied by Apple’.

According to the telecom industry, if the telecom dealership does not enter the product’s serial number, the phone cannot be officially activated. In other words, not only the phone manufacturer but also the telecom company can judge whether the product is authentic through its serial number.

LG Uplus asked Apple’s head office twice to provide the basis for judging Mr. Kwak’s iPhone as a counterfeit, but Apple repeatedly refused to respond.
