Tesla’s Q4 2023 sales were recorded at 484,507 units, a 19.55% increase from the same period last year. The Q4 sales of Model 3 and Model Y were slightly below market expectations totaling 461,538 units. Model S, Model X, and Cybertruck sold 22,969 units.
The annual sales for 2023 increased by 37.65% to 1,808,581 units achieving the initial target of 1.8 million units. The Q4 production number also exceeded expectations reaching 494,989 units. The production of Model 3 and Model Y slightly exceeded market expectations totaling 476,777 units. The production of other models was 18,212 units. The total production for 2023 increased by 35% to 1,845,985 units. The 2023 production of Model 3 and Model Y was 1,775,159 units and other models were 78,826 units.
Meanwhile, Tesla sold 248,686 China-made cars in Q4, accounting for 51.33% of global sales. The annual sales increased by 33.32% to 947,742 units. Tesla’s Gigafactory in Shanghai has the largest production capacity among Tesla plants with 950,000 units.
