Russian Military Develops ‘Invisible Cloak’
Avoids Detection by Thermal Cameras
The Russian military has announced plans to equip its troops with an ‘invisible cloak’ to counter enemy thermal cameras.
Manufacturer Hider X claims to have solved a major flaw that only sharp-eyed operatives could detect.
They shared a video demonstrating the test results.
The screen initially appeared to show only one armed soldier, but as it split, the shape of a hidden person was revealed.
The technology utilizes a special material, similar to that used by firefighters, to block and cool hot air emissions preventing detection by thermal cameras. The cloak is equipped with a cooling and ventilation system to regulate the trapped hot air inside, and it is resistant to water and fire.
However, the company has not disclosed the specific details of this technology and it is unclear about its viability in actual battlefield conditions.
Meanwhile, Russia is at war with Ukraine.
Last October, Ukraine claimed to have developed an ‘invisible cloak’ that could hide their soldiers from Russian forces.
Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, said, “The newly made cloak is invisible to Russian thermal cameras.”
