At the Mobile World Congress, the world’s largest communication technology exhibition, Samsung Electronics’ innovative wearable device was finally unveiled and placed at the center of global attention as soon as its development news was released.
The Galaxy Ring is a wearable device crafted in a ring, rather than the familiar wristwatch design that was unexpectedly revealed at last month’s Galaxy S24 Series unpacking event.
As soon as the ring comes into contact with the finger on the inner side of the ring, it begins to measure the user’s health data. Thus, the ring facilitates managing health data such as sleep and activity levels.
Most importantly, like a smartwatch, a smart ring is equipped with sensors for ECG and blood flow measurements to easily measure the heart rate and blood pressure in daily life.
There is also speculation that some functions supported only on smartphones, like SmartThings and simple payments, will be available on the Galaxy Ring.
If these features are incorporated, there will be no need to take out physical or even mobile cards when purchasing items. An era that solely wears the Galaxy Ring and allows you to control home appliances located throughout your house conveniently is coming.
Another advantage of the Galaxy Ring is its weight. Despite having several practical features for everyday life, it is even lighter than the existing smartphone rings.
The appearance is also sleek and plain, allowing for comfortable wear during sports activities and even while sleeping.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Ring displayed at the ‘Mobile World Congress comes in three colors: black, gold, and silver. It also comes with nine sizes to fit individuals accordingly.
The specific release date of the Galaxy Ring has not yet been announced, but the industry expects that Samsung Electronics will start selling it through an unpacking event in the second half of the year.
