KGM is the only brand producing pickup trucks in Korea, limiting options. As car camping and other leisure activities continue to gain popularity post-Covid, pickup trucks like the Tasman are receiving increased attention and high expectations.

The Tasman is anticipated to share the family look with the Telluride, a strategic model for the North American market, as it shares a platform with the Mohave. A rugged and masculine design typical of pickup trucks is expected to be applied. Starting from the front, narrow and vertically emphasized headlights are arranged. They are placed on the sides of the body to highlight the vehicle’s width. It is expected to reflect Kia’s latest design elements, including the Starmap signature lighting.

The vehicle is 213 inches long, 76 inches wide, 74 inches high, and has a wheelbase of 129 inches. Despite driving at night covered in camouflage, its enormous size is evident.

Electric Powertrain to be Added
The interior is expected to reflect various of the latest systems. The newest convenience specifications, including the ccNC entertainment system and a wide display, are anticipated to be provided. The Tasman’s powertrain will first showcase a 2.2 diesel engine and a 2.5 gasoline turbo, and a lineup expansion plan includes the addition of an electric powertrain by 2026.
