World’s Coolest Police Fleet Vehicles: From Muscle Cars to Supercars

newautopost Views

The go-to police fleet vehicles
A look at police cars around the world
Variety of models in use

Fleet cars, typically used for business purposes, are often managed by corporations or institutions. Most car manufacturers use their company vehicles as their fleet cars, and public institutions are no exception. Each fleet car is designated for a specific purpose, with police cars, fire trucks, and other official vehicles being purchased and utilized accordingly.

The most easily recognizable fleet cars for the general public are police cars. South Korea has highway undercover patrol cars and regular police cars, which we see often in our everyday lives. Meanwhile, countries like the United States, Australia, and the Middle East use distinctive police cars. But why is that?

On South Korean highways, cars often violate traffic rules, such as speeding and reckless driving. South Korean police use undercover patrol cars for highway patrols to control these vehicles.

They use the Genesis G70, known for its top performance among domestic sports sedans. This sleek black or white sedan may go unnoticed when it cruises down the highway, but when it follows a speeding car and flashes its hidden warning lights, it’s sure to surprise everyone. Using a high-performance sedan for highway patrol is to chase down speeders effectively.

Australia uses the Stingers as patrol cars
Dubai uses supercars as police vehicles

Similarly, Australia also utilizes Korean sports sedans as police cars. The vehicle of choice is Kia’s Stinger. The main reason for using the Stinger is the same as the Genesis G70. With its 3.3L twin-turbo V6 engine and 8-speed automatic transmission, the Stinger GT can generate a maximum output of 368 horsepower, making it more than capable of apprehending reckless drivers.

In Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, where supercars are commonplace, it’s well known that they are used as police vehicles. The reason is that supercars of the same caliber are required to catch up with the Middle Eastern wealthy, who use supercars. Additionally, Dubai has established partnerships with various supercar manufacturers to use their cars as police vehicles, reinforcing the image of being one of the wealthiest cities in the world.

The U.S. uses muscle cars as police vehicles
Fleet cars you’d better not encounter

Ford’s Crown Victoria was widely used as a patrol car in the United States. Its sturdy body-on-frame design and V8 engine provided ample power, making it ideal for dealing with reckless drivers. However, as times have changed, its presence has faded, and now Dodge’s muscle car, the Charger, has taken its place as a high-performance sedan.

While there aren’t many business vehicles we can distinguish on the road, we can easily identify police cars. It’s also interesting to note the different models and characteristics of police cars in other countries. Regardless of where in the world you are, let’s hope you never have to encounter the vehicles above.
