What will the production model of Genesis’ electric vehicle ‘GV90’
look like?
Predictions based on the Neolun concept have surfaced
Hints of the previously veiled Genesis flagship SUV ‘GV90’ have been revealed. The Neolun concept car, unveiled on the 26th, is the show’s star. While Genesis has not explicitly linked the concept car with the GV90, most of the special features applied to the Neolun are expected to be incorporated into the GV90.
Recently, the projected model of the GV90, based on the Neolun, was released, drawing attention. We looked at the differences from the projections made before the Neolun was unveiled and what features will be incorporated into the production car.
Maximizing the advantages of two-tone color, the largest wheels ever applied.
Russian digital artist ‘Kelsonik’ unveiled a predicted rendering of the Genesis GV90 on his Instagram channel on the 27th. While it doesn’t differ much from the base Neolun concept car, a few design elements likely to be applied to the production car stand out. The Neolun appears monotone due to its dark color scheme, but a two-tone exterior color has been used.
This color combination, commonly seen in Mercedes-Maybach vehicles, divides the Neolun’s color at the hood, pillars, and roof. The GV90 is expected to have a variety of color combinations, and Kelsonik’s projection shows a few examples. The top is black, and the bottom is white or bright primary color, maximizing the advantages of two-tone color. Given that a full-size body is likely, the wheels are expected to be the largest in the Genesis lineup. Kelsonik explains that the GV90 in the projection has 26-inch wheels applied.
What do past projections have in common with the Neolun?
On the other hand, attention is being refocused on projections made before the Neolun concept car was unveiled. NYMammoth, a new domestic car projection creator, previously created a GV90 projection based on imagination. At the time, it was known that the GV90 would be developed as a dedicated electric vehicle based on the next-generation architecture, and there was a possibility of applying coach doors. NYMammoth’s projection appears to have melted the front of the electric sports car concept ‘X Convertible’ into the released GV80.
The two-line DRL extending to the front fascia and the grill divided into two parts below are matched. However, suppose there are no significant changes in the production stage of the Neolun concept. In that case, it will follow the box-shaped silhouette of the traditional SUV, and the floating roof design popular in today’s SUV market is not expected to be applied. The rear part does not have a separate lamp box for brake lights or turn signals, and all functions will likely be included in a simple pair of horizontal lines.
Many new convenience specifications were applied, and Crystal Sphere’s role changed.
As it is expected to be the most expensive price range in Genesis history, innovative luxury specifications are expected to be applied in large numbers. The openness provided by the boldly removed B pillar and coach doors is virtually guaranteed for production. Taking advantage of this structure, the front-row seats are expected to have a rotation feature. Therefore, the second-row display is on the top, not the front-row seat back. In addition, a radiant heating system inspired by traditional Korean heated floors will be installed in the Hyundai Motor Group for the first time.
Radiant heating films are attached to all possible places, such as the dashboard, door trim, floor, seat back, and console side, allowing for low-power, high-efficiency heating. Also, the audio system is expected to provide a rich and three-dimensional sound by introducing a sound architecture that optimizes each speaker’s location. The Crystal Sphere, first installed in the GV60, is applied to the Twitter speaker, doubling as an object. The shift lever is expected to have a unique column structure at noon when the vehicle power is off and moves to 2 o’clock when driving.
