Supercar manufacturer Koenigsegg
Unveils customized model Jesko
Garnished with pure gold
There is a supercar with unimaginable high performance, a design as beautiful as a work of art, and a basic price of $700,000. Although it is already difficult for the general public to access, there is a higher category called hypercar above supercar. Although it is classified as a supercar, its performance and price are completely different from those of an existing supercar.
It must be seen that they used a method to make it expensive so that only billionaires could purchase it, with the price rising to about $740,000 at the basic level and $7,400,000 at the highest level. Sweden’s Koenigsegg, a representative hypercar manufacturer, has recently attracted attention by unveiling a new vehicle covered in pure gold.
Carbon fiber applied throughout the vehicle body
24K gold on wheels
On April 1, Koenigsegg unveiled Odin, one of the customized specifications for its flagship model, Jesko. Jesko Odin, named after the king of gods in Norse mythology, features 24K pure gold decorated throughout the interior and exterior. Previously, Koenigsegg unveiled several customized models named after mythological gods, such as Regera Loki and Agera FE Thor.
Among these, the new vehicle inspired by the Azera RS Phoenix has many similarities, including exposed carbon fiber body panels and solid gold decoration. The puree gold decoration was applied to the front splitter, bonnet point, side mirror arm, side skirt aero flick, rear wing end plate, roofline, rear diffuser, and front and rear emblems. Pure gold was also applied to the center lock wheel nuts, which were designed to withstand the high heat of the brake system by appropriately placing carbon fiber.
Top-end performance
Maximum output is 1,622 horsepower
The interior was also made of carbon fiber and pure gold. A carbon pattern is visible inside the steering rim with a protective cover, and carbon fiber interior materials are applied to the door trim, A-pillar, center of the dashboard, and center console. Pure gold is expected to have been used for the air vents at the top of the center fascia, the Koenigsegg logo on the door trim, and the Jesko embroidery at the top of the glove box.
Jesko has a 5.0L V8 twin-turbo engine and a Koenigsegg LST (Light Speed Transmission) 9-speed multi-clutch transmission. The maximum output of 1,298 horsepower and the maximum torque of 102 kg.m based on gasoline fuel are transmitted entirely to the rear wheels. It takes only 2.6 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph), and the maximum speed based on its simulation is 482 km/h (300 mph). When E85 ethanol fuel is used, maximum output and maximum torque increase to 1,622 horsepower and 153 kg.m, respectively.
The starting price will be $3.3 million
The plating option price is $220,000
Koenigsegg Jesko is divided into two trims depending on the purpose, such as track driving and top speed. Jesko Odin was developed based on the Attack trim optimized for track driving. Koenigsegg produces 40 to 50 units of the Jesko annually and plans to sell only 125 units. According to the industry, the selling price of Jesko Odin starts at $3.3 million (about 4.4 billion won), and the 24K plating option price will be $220,000.
