Lotus, once famous for its lightweight sports cars, is now making aggressive strides towards electrification. After introducing the brand’s first fully electric SUV, the Eletre, to the U.S. market, Lotus launched its new custom order service, Lotus Chapman Bespoke.

Now, the focus is on the detailed specifications of the pure electric car Emeya. This new model, developed as a four-door sedan, is gaining attention as a competitor to the Porsche Taycan, thanks to its potent powertrain and advanced specifications.

System output of around 900 horsepower with top-level charging speed

The Lotus Emeya was developed based on the EPA (Electric Premium Architecture), derived from the Geely SEA platform. Its dimensions are 5,100mm (200.8 inches) in length and 3,070mm (120.9 inches) in wheelbase, while other details are yet to be revealed. The powertrain comprises a 102kWh battery pack and dual motors; even the base model delivers a combined power output of 600 horsepower.

The higher specification model boasts a total output of 918 horsepower and a maximum torque of 100kgf.m. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) takes just 2.78 seconds, and overtaking acceleration from 80 to 120 km/h (50 to 75 mph) is completed in 2 seconds. The top speed is limited to 250 km/h (155 mph). A single charge allows for a driving range of 610km (379 miles) according to the WLTP standard. It supports ultra-fast charging of 350kW, securing a driving range of 150km (93 miles) in just 5 minutes, and can charge up to 80% in 18 minutes.

Low center of gravity fitting for Lotus
Interior filled with advanced specifications

Emeya features advanced aerodynamic parts such as active front grilles, rear diffusers, and spoilers, ensuring superior aerodynamic performance. This specification synergizes with the low center of gravity design, dubbed ‘Hyperstance,’ to enhance driving stability, agile handling, and comfortable ride quality. Eight ventilation slots are located throughout Emeya’s body to facilitate airflow. These elements contribute to improved driving performance and energy efficiency and enhanced cooling performance of brakes, motors, and batteries.

The interior is also equipped with cutting-edge equipment leading the segment. The windshield glass features a 55-inch augmented reality head-up display (HUD) that can display various driving information. A 15.1-inch HD OLED is used for the center display, boasting vivid image quality. It includes the Lotus Hyper OS infotainment system, offering various specialized features, including the Unreal game engine.

Equipped with electronic air suspension
Expected to be launched in the U.S. market

Furthermore, Emeya has a dual NVIDIA DRIVE Orin system with excellent data processing capabilities. With four LiDARs, 18 radars, seven 8-million-pixel cameras, and five 5-million-pixel sensors, it can scan obstacles within a radius of up to 200m (656 feet), even in adverse weather conditions.

The electronically controlled air suspension system is also noteworthy. It detects road conditions in real time with a camera, and the damper damping force is adjusted 1,000 times per second. This provides a comfortable ride in normal driving conditions and sharp cornering fitting for Lotus during dynamic driving. Meanwhile, Emeya has appeared as a new vehicle on the Lotus Korea website, raising expectations for its launch in the U.S. market.
