Famous for its pretty designs, the Ferrari convertible Rome Spider
In the end, they won the Red Dot award
Ferrari, a famous Italian supercar brand, recently announced some happy news. It won the best design award from Germany’s Red Dot Award Association. The Rome Spider vehicle equi, topped with a folding soft top, was selected as Best of the Best, the highest award in the product design category.
The Rome Spider is a 2+ mid-engine convertible vehicle with an elegant design that equips the existing Rome model with an innovative folding soft top. Ferrari has reintroduced this soft top solution to a Ferrari front-engine car 54 years after the 365 GTS4 in 1969.
Ferrari Rome Spider What characteristics does it have?
The Rome Spider’s soft top is a bit special. The 5-layer customized roof, which allows for various customizations, blocks external noise to the same level as a folding hard top. It can be folded in 13.5 seconds at a maximum speed of 60 km/h ( 37 mph ). A patented movable wind deflector is integrated into the rear seat backrest, dramatically reducing tailwinds entering the cabin and providing comfort when driving with the open top.
The Rome Spider is equipped with a 620 horsepower twin-turbo V8 engine. It adopts the best power-to-weight ratio (2.5kg/cv), an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), and Ferrari Roma’s vehicle dynamics system. Through this, it can be said to be a vehicle that offers a unique combination of timeless elegance, driving thrill, comfort, and performance.
SF90 XX Stradale
KC23 also won an award
The honor of winning the award did not end there. SF90 XX Stradale and KC23 each also won a Red Dot Award. The SF90XX Stradale has a plug-in hybrid powertrain with a twin-turbo V8 and three electric motors. This makes it a special limited edition model that demonstrates a powerful performance of 1,030 horsepower.
KC23 is a one-off (the only one in the world) model with a futuristic design. It was made based on the racing car 488 GT3 Evo 2020 framework. A distinctive feature of this vehicle is its unique dual configuration, which emphasizes dynamics on the track and formal purity when stationary.
