Range Rover-like side part
The boxy roof line is emphasized
Hyundai is preparing to launch a redesigned model (entirely changed model) of the large SUV Palisade. Palisade is a family car of choice among many fathers in South Korea. Even though the redesigned model is about to be launched, it is proving its continued popularity by recording a respectable sales volume of 6,080 units in the first quarter of 2024.
The new Palisade is scheduled to begin mass production as early as January 2025. Ahead of the launch, the test vehicle was spotted several times, and there is a lot of interest in the design to be applied.
Modified to island-type
The bonnet line boasts a sense of length
On some of the side parts of the test vehicle hidden by the camouflage membrane, an attempt was made to hide the lines intentionally through implants. The implants made it look bigger than before, making it feel more similar to a Range Rover. New York Mammoth, a YouTuber who specializes in rendering new models in South Korea, created a side projection based on the Palisade test car and presented a detailed design appearance.
First, the bonnet has been modified to an island type, giving it a flat feel with an emphasis on horizontality. It is considerable in length and extends toward the front. The smooth, flowing lines on the front have a slight sense of volume. Starting with the A-pillar that extends diagonally, the roof line falls gently, making it a boxy shape.
Chrome garnish with angled lines
Straight rear glass
A chrome garnish is placed above the black high-gloss filler to add design detail. The garnish, which starts from the top of the front windshield and continues along the roof line, falls at an angle from the rear quarter glass and divides the windshield area. Although it is based on the design elements of the current Palisade, it has been modified to be more angular and sleek, which has had a significant impact on the change in impression.
The wheel arches’ character line for the overfender continues angularly. The rear line extends long all the way to the tail lamp, contrasting with the circular wheel arch. The longer rear overhang also stands out. The rear glass line, which falls closer to vertical than before, creates a boxy shape and is expected to affect securing space in the third row.
DRL applied in dotted form
DRL side extended to the bottom
Looking at the front part, there is a horizontal DRL in the form of a dotted line that runs below the parting line of the bonnet. In the case of the DRL side, the design extends long with a slight arch toward the bottom, which is the biggest feature of the front. The square headlamp and grille are connected, and the grille appears to have a pattern that emphasizes horizontality, emphasizing the wide width.
In the case of the rear, a ㄱ shaped tail lamp is applied. The graphics inside the tail lamp are divided into 10 square cells. The interior of the vertically extended tail lamp is divided into sections by crossing horizontal and vertical lines. The black garnish across the tail lamp has Palisade lettering engraved on it. Emphasis was placed on the rear design, which can be somewhat plain. Below that, there was a license plate with a trapezoidal engraving.
