Continues to stir controversy

Cybertruck accident has become a hot topic in online communities in South Korea and overseas. Tesla CEO Elon Musk showed confidence in the Cybertruck, saying it was equipped with apocalypse defense technology to survive any disaster.

Even before the launch of the Cybertruck, Tesla boasted of its durability by throwing metal balls at the Cybertruck’s windows with all their might or firing real guns at the body panels. Tesla’s marketing was so effective that the Cybertruck became so popular that it was traded on auction sites at a premium twice the original price after its launch.

The second accident occurred while trying to pull out the truck

However, it is said that netizens’ reactions were mixed as the Cybertruck was severely damaged after this accident. Let’s take a look at the details. The accident occurred when a semi-truck backed into a Cybertruck parked at a loading dock. After a semi-truck and a Cybertruck that was reversing collided once, the accident escalated while trying to pull out the truck.

While the Cybertruck and the semi-truck were in contact and trying to pull out the semi-truck, the side parts of both vehicles collided. The side was split entirely, turning the Cybertruck into a miserable sight. The semi-truck appears to have been touched with the cargo compartment door open, and it also suffered some damage, including falling panels and flying debris.

The panel significantly opened and bent
It has only been a week since the delivery

The Cybertruck was even more disastrously damaged. The panel, which boasted the bulletproof performance of Tesla, was considerably widened or bent. Shards of the broken window littered the floor. The Cybertruck’s thick, angular cladding also fell apart, folded like paper, exposing its internal structure. The side mirror that had fallen over was on the bonnet, showing significant damage.

The Cybertruck in which the accident occurred was said to have been delivered only a week ago, making it even more regrettable. This is because the Cybertruck is expensive, starting at about $60,990. Controversy also arose about whether moving the semi-truck was the appropriate method.

Should the semi-truck have been moved first?

There was also an opinion that the damage could have been reduced if the Cybertruck, rather than the semi-truck, had been reversed. However, it is said that there was a wall behind the cybertruck, making it impossible to reverse. According to people at the scene, “the semi-truck’s cargo compartment door was pressed against the front edge. If the Cybertruck had been moved first, the cargo compartment door would have been torn off.” In the end, it is said that the only way was to move the semi-truck, but it seems clear that this caused more significant damage.
