Supercars are a dream for many, boasting price tags that can be hard to reach even after a lifetime of saving. However, for some, they may be nothing more than disposable toys. Recently, attention has been drawn to a case of reckless driving with a limited edition McLaren supercar, of which only 500 exist worldwide, ending in an accident.
The vehicle involved in the accident was a custom-made model with options worth around $178,000, adding to the controversy. The driver, a famous YouTuber known for his frequent accidents, is also a topic of discussion.

Drift Attempt on Public Road Turned Deadly
On April 29, a video of a McLaren Senna crashing in Woodland Hills, Ventura Boulevard, California, was posted on the online community Reddit. According to the video, the car, which had been driving calmly, suddenly attempted a 360-degree rotation, as if the driver decided to show off to those filming his vehicle.
The vehicle in question then skidded to the right and plunged into the roadside, ending its short rampage by colliding with a parked Toyota Camry and a Lexus showroom next to it. Fortunately, the traffic volume was relatively low then, and the sidewalk where the accident occurred was empty, so no casualties were reported.

The Driver? A Famous YouTuber.
The state of the damaged vehicle shows that the impact at the time of the accident was substantial. The front crumple zone was utterly damaged, and the carbon fiber chassis and front suspension also suffered severe damage. McLaren has the technology to fully restore even more severely damaged vehicles, and since this vehicle is a limited edition model, it can likely be repaired. Meanwhile, the identity of the driver who caused the accident has also been revealed, stirring up more controversy.
The problematic McLaren Senna’s owner, featured in a video posted by Reddit user slattdemon99, is believed to be Edmond Mondi, a well-known YouTuber. Mondi recently acquired the Senna named Project Kilo 2, produced by McLaren’s MSO custom-made department. The vehicle features a green interior and exterior color, a gold exhaust shield, a side Kiwi logo, and a carbon wheel option worth $152,000.

Famous for Previous Accidents
Edmond Mondi also gained notoriety last year when he crashed a Hummer EV shortly after driving it for about 14 kilometers. At the time, the repair estimate for the vehicle was reported to be $78,000. That same year, he slid and hit another 911 GT3 RS while driving a Porsche 911 GT3 on a racing track.
