A limited edition model with only 30 units produced
Mercedes-Maybach S580 Night Edition
It will be sold only in Japan
Mercedes-Benz unveiled the Maybach S580 Night Edition in the Japanese market, causing excitement in the industry. Mercedes-Benz has been one of the best-selling vehicle brands in Japan for several years, with more than 50,000 vehicles delivered in Japan in 2023. In Japan, where domestic vehicles are preferred, it is rare for a brand to show this level of sales.
Therefore, it is assumed that Mercedes-Benz unveiled a special model only for the Japanese market to secure more consumers in the Japanese vehicle market. Mercedes-Benz announced that it will produce only 30 units of the vehicle, and its unique method of determining buyers when more than 30 purchase applications are received is becoming a hot topic.
Two-tone Onyx Black and Mojave Silver
Features dark rose gold accents
The Maybach S580 Night Edition features a two-tone onyx black and Mojave silver design. Dark rose gold accents are added to the entire trim of the front grille intake shrouds, door handles, and rocker panels. The tailpipes and rear bumper trim also feature dark rose accents.
The calm exterior has a relatively understated design, but the wheels boast gorgeous details. For 20-inch aluminum rims, there are 7 main spokes. Among them were dozens of small Maybach emblems. Those wheels would have seemed excessive on a regular vehicle, but they went surprisingly well with the Night Edition’s understated design.
Plush white leather interior
Looks neat and stylish
The interior of the Maybach S580 Night Edition was as luxurious as the exterior. Plush white leather was applied to the vehicle’s interior seats, door panels, center console, and transmission tunnel, making a clean and sophisticated impression. The piano black console below the infotainment screen features a small Maybach emblem engraved, emphasizing the otherwise dull black color.
Additionally, the edges of the console were painted dark rose gold, giving it a luxurious feel. The Maybach S580 Night Edition has the same 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine as the regular Maybach S580. It is said to be equipped with a 48V mild hybrid system, which allows the vehicle to produce 496 horsepower with four-wheel drive.
When more than 30 purchase applications are received
Buyers will be decided through a lottery
As mentioned, only thirty Maybach S580 Night Edition units will be produced. According to local Japanese media, if more than 30 vehicle purchase applications are received, Mercedes-Benz will hold a lottery to determine who can purchase the vehicle. The first delivery is scheduled to take place in July 2024.
