This appears to be because the original model, the Megane, was discontinued entirely after undergoing electrification. This may be unavoidable since there is no base model, but it feels somewhat unfortunate that it was released as is without any noticeable changes.

The relaunched Megane Grand Coupe will be equipped with Renault’s 1.3L gasoline turbo engine, which has been adjusted to deliver 140 horsepower, taking into account the vehicle’s size. The engine will be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT).

As briefly mentioned above, the Megane was discontinued as of April 2024. In the era of electric vehicles, the 5th generation full-change model was launched as an electric vehicle-only model in 2022. However, there has been a steady demand for the Megane sedan model in Eastern Europe, so Renault plans to relaunch it this time. It will be produced at the Turkiye plant and sold throughout Eastern Europe. The selling price of the model is said to be around $20,000.
